Labor Day Weekend

We planned on going camping but didn't quite make it. We bought the tent, the sleeping bags and
something to cook on but it wasn't in our favor. So Justin insisted that we camp out in the backyard. I don't mind camping out in the wilderness but backyard is too close to my REAL bed. So the Boys and Justin are sleeping out in the tent. We also used the grill to "ROAST" marshmellows. Andrew didn't even get to the roasting part, Alec just liked to burn them and Aiden didn't care for them so that was fun!

Who needs a Maid Service!

Isn't that what kids are for? My boys love to vacuum. Andrew now fights me for the vacuum cleaner. It is very annoying when I want to get it done. Isn't he cute? Too bad I won't be fighting him forever for the vacuum cleaner.

Our Journey is almost Through!

Daddy comes home tomorrow! Wish it was sooner! I spent the night on a nice clean white bed in the Emergency Room last night. I had what felt like swelling in my throat, honestly it felt like a golf sized lump in my throat. At night it was hard to breathe. I finally went in after nearly two weeks of hardly breathing or sleeping at night. A serious sinus infection is what was revealed. Wow! So after 3 hours of sleep it's back to surviving the last bit of Justin's vacation. And to top it off, it's raining for the next 7 days. So here is what has happened in a nut shell...........
1. Bank refuses to let me into our account.
2. Andrew breaks Justin camera lens
3. Brandy Gets a Shingles outbreak and then 2 weeks later a major sinus infection.
4. Brandy wakes up one day and only phone she has is not working, TMobile will not fix it because once again Justin did not remember to put her on the account.
5. Van door stops working
6. Brandy takes a total of 1 shower by herself.
7. Brandy nearly drowns trying to hide from Aiden during her one attempt to relax in the tub.

It's crazy around here!

"Mom, Our House is Spinning!"

I watched my children for about 20 minutes as they spun and spun around the living room floor. As I watched I stepped over their toys that I never seem to see them play with. I am a minimalist but birthdays and Christmas always ushers in new things for me to pick up or encourage my children to pick up. What happen to the days of forts built out of sheets and playing outside? A good playdate always ends in the hostess and kids cleaning up mounds of toys because we've lost the ideal of non structured/non toy play. Aiden had a blast this morning entertaining himself! Who knows maybe most of the toys in this house will find their way out the door.

Resurrecting the Blog

I recently talked to a great friend of mine and was looking at their family blog. I thought it would be great to start one. Little did I know it's already been going via Justin for over a year. It's also been over a year since he posted.
We've come a long way in a year. We no longer sun bathe at the beach or watch the ocean as we treck up I-5. We now jet to the basement once a month in case nature wants to borrow our house and it's contents. Alec and Aiden (and myself) had to adjust to all kinds of crazy bugs that BITE or STING. We've had plenty of those. I have not yet adjusted to Kansas driving and realize I probably never will. On the up side we love owning our own home and our family is almost always together.
Justin loves KU and we try really hard not to mix ourselves in with the sports fanatics, but that can be an obstacle when they cancel school for a championship game. He is currently taking a vacation in Quantico , Virginia. He is taking long 6-9 mile hikes and playing tag in the woods. I can't find a picture of him but if you visit http://www.ocs.umuc.mil/ you can search for him within the sea of green or get a general idea of how his summer vaca is going. He comes home in 7 days but who's counting?
I am holding the fort down. Well I try! It's a nut house instead of a fort. Between teaching Jazzercise and keeping up with all of my children and their activities day runs into night runs into day again. It's tough but someone has to be willing to do it. I'm proud of Justin and want to do what I can to support him (even if my sanity is the price). I am so thankful for the hilarious moments here and there that makes times like these seem not so difficult. And while I love and cherish all of my kids Alec has really stepped up as the man of the house to help mommy out.
